Reflection Exploration is a UK-based seismic processing and software development company.

We produce seismic processing software for Windows – the HotShot processing system and the Spex interactive velocity analysis and stack program.

HotShot is a fully featured processing system.

Spex eliminates the need to pick detailed velocity functions, and also provides a unique view of the velocity field.

Processing

HotShot‘s 200+ processing routines cover everything from SEGD input through pre-stack migration. These can be strung together to form processing flows with great flexibility.
Flows can be run interactively or queued and run in batch mode.

Spex is a very easy-to-use interactive stack program. It accepts uncorrected SEGY gathers that are in any sort order.
It includes proprietary algorithms for velocity-independent and stretch-free NMO corrections.

Examples

Velocity Analysis and Stack.

Here’s a conventional stack of a land line. As you can see, the data’s badly affected by near surface problems.
Here’s an animation that compares the conventional stack with our unique automatic stretch-free stack.

Pre-stack Migration.

Can you spot the faults on this marine line?
This animation shows how PSTM (and red-blue format) help to reveal them.
And here’s the same animation in a negative image format. It highlights them more clearly.

Trace Interpolation.

Here we see the trace interpolation of a couple of shots. The algorithm is effectively dip-independent.
Here a synthetic record is 2-for-1 interpolated. The FK spectrums indicate the before-and-after spatial aliasing as FK wraparound.

Miscellaneous examples.
